1984.

Just came across this video. It’s George Orwell’s 1984 written by Eric Arthur Blair (real-name) in late 1940’s. It paints a bleak picture of a post nuclear conflict world divided into 3 power blocks, all of which are equally repressive of the citizenry. Way back then in 1984, Orwell was denounced as a “false prophet”  and his book as nonsense. Take a look at it now and see if his ever watchful “big brother” (the bbc (in this instance )    is big brother) is as far-fetched as it them seemed.

Some Movie Trailers …

leave a comment »

Just decided to put up some movies trailers, of late the postings have got a little scare. I will have a few up in the next few days. Anyway went to see this film “Angels and Demons” last night, though they were some great views of Rome. I actually didn’t like the film and thought it had satanic overtones and felt it should have a higher rating than its certificate. Both Tom Hanks and Ewan McGregor star and it’s quiet a lively action picture despite it’s Vatican location.

See what you make of it yourself.

Here’s a a few trailers of films due to be released shortly. The “Witch Mountain” looks like it’s one for the kids.

Hunger.

Went to see this film Wednesday night and it was quiet a good film. It isn’t a film to lift your spirits or in any escapist especially with all the brown stuff on the walls, ooh dear. It’s gritty, brutal and realistic you will definitely leave the cinema quiet. I posted the trailer and a review from the Times Online below. Both the actor Michael Fassbender and the director Steve McQueen should get a Oscar or least nominated for one.
